
Chicken Pie
Excellent main dish!
Ingredients
- 2.5-3 lb Broiler/fryer Chicken
- 2 Stalks Celery Cut into large pieces
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 Cup Butter melted
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 can Cream of Celery Soup (10 3/4oz) undiluted
- 1.25 Cup Chicken Broth or 1 can (10 3/4oz) undiluted
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
Instructions
- Combine chicken, 1 stalk of celery, salt, and water to cover in a Dutch oven
- Cover and simmer over low for 25-30 minutes or until chicken is tender
- Remove chicken, reserving liquid
- Debone and dice meat
- Please meat in a lightly greased 11 x 7 x 2" baking dish
- Add the remaining stalk of chopped celery and the chopped onion
- Drizzle the melted butter over
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, & milkBeat until smooth with a whiskPour over Chicken
- Combine Celery Soup & Chicken Broth in a small saucepanBring to a boil over medium heatPour over chicken - do not stir
- Bake at 425° for 50 minutes or until golden brown
